Community Discussion

Time: 6:30 PM — 8:00 PM

Sha’arei Shalom is hosting a community discussion at the Ashland Public Library on Thursday, February 6th at 6:30 pm. Rabbi Eric Gurvis will lead a conversation about the rise of anti-Semitism and what we can do about it.

We will live in chaotic and challenging times. Divided politically, socially, and in numerous other ways, we have witnessed an increase in attacks, verbal and physical, on various segments of American society. Notably, there has been a rising wave of concern in recent months, and even years, over the increase of anti-Semitic attacks and incidents. Statistics over recent years evidence a concerning and dramatic rise in the numbers of such attacks: Pittsburgh, Poway, Jersey City, and recently across the New York metropolitan area. Even here in our greater Boston area, we have witnessed incidents.

How do we make sense of this rise in anti-Semitism? More importantly, what can we do, as a Jewish community, and in partnership with our neighbors, to stand up against hatred and bigotry, whether it is expressed against Jews in the form of anti-Semitism or hate-filled speech and acts against others amongst our neighbors?

Join us for a community conversation, sponsored by Sha’arei Shalom of Ashland, and led by the congregation’s rabbi, Eric Gurvis at the Ashland Public Library on Thursday, February 6th at 6:30 pm. All are welcome.

Parking: Please use the municipal lot across the street from the library
