Thank you for being part of the Sha’arei Shalom family. Whether you are a current member, have been part of our congregation in the past, have attended our High Holiday or other religious services, or have supported a family member in sending children to our Religious School, you have contributed to the building of our congregation. I am writing because now, more than ever, we need your financial support.
The members of Sha’arei Shalom have created a warm, creative, joy-filled Jewish community where person-to-person connection is a cornerstone of all we do. Our spiritual leader, Rabbi Margie Klein, brings us a deeper connection to Jewish tradition through music and thought-provoking commentary, discussion, and practice. We have a wonderful religious school where students have fun while learning about Jewish prayers, holidays, music, and traditions. And our Bar & Bat Mitzvah students consistently reach an impressive level of competence and confidence on the bima.
We at Sha’arei Shalom are proud of the inclusive, innovative, and engaging programming that we have created. In all that we do, we look to make our tradition relevant and meaningful to families in our community. We welcome individuals in various walks of life including those in interfaith relationships, families with young children, individuals, and senior citizens. We make our offerings open to members and non-members alike, because it is important to us that anyone interested in having a connection to Judaism feel welcome and comfortable participating. And our rates are tiered and affordable, with a special senior rate available, so that the threshold to membership is low.
There are many ways to help Sha’arei Shalom continue to thrive and grow. To continue the important work that we are doing and to expand our outreach, we need your financial support. With a small membership and no endowment, our budget continues to be extremely tight. We ask you to contribute whatever you can—whether $18 or $180 or $1800. Your contribution will help us to:
Your financial support will help us in building a relevant, lively, sustainable center for contemporary Jewish life here in Ashland. Thank you for your generous support. (And please let us know if your donation is in memory or in honor of someone so that we can include that in our acknowledgements.)
Wishing your family a Chanukah filled with light and blessings,
