Sermon on Recent Anti-Semitic Attacks

March 14th, 2017

Dear Friends,

Over the past few days, swastikas have been painted on the walls and windows of Ashland Middle School and High School.  This anti-semitic vandalism is disturbing in itself, but made scarier in the context of increasing attacks on the Jewish community over the past few weeks.

Last week alone,  Jewish institutions around the country received over twenty bomb threats, including bomb threats to the JCC in Newton, the New England offices of the Anti-defamation league, and our neighbors at Temple Beth Sholom in Framingham.  In addition to the bomb threats, in Philadelphia, Rochester, and St. Louis, Jewish cemeteries have been vandalized, headstones strewn everywhere.
