| | 4th | Over the vacation, your children should be practicing their root words, as there will be a quiz on them the Tuesday that we come back. They all had an assignment to work with you on their life cycyle books chapter on weddings. They need pictures from your wedding if available or they can draw their interpretation. They will be tested on their reading skills after vacation,so they should be practing at least 3 times a week for at least 5-10 minutes at a time. If any pages in their hebrew books need completion, please have your child complete them over the vacation. Enjoy your time off. |
| | 5th | Have a great summer! |
| | 6th | NOTE TO PARENTS, please help your child when he or she reads and practices his or her reading Hebrew. The more time you spend with your child will reinforce what your child is learning in class and will pay great dividends in enhancing Hebrew reading skills when it comes time for Bat or Bar Mitzvah lessons. Journey Through the Siddur, review the opening and closing prayers for the Haftarah on page 50 for the opening and pages 56 and 57 for the closing. By doing this review you will get a head start with your Bat or Bar mitzvah lessons. Continue to review all the monthly prayers in the Siddur that the 6th grade was assigned, Ashrei on page 190 in your Siddur, Baruch Sheamar page 180 top 11 lines and the Jan. prayer, the Kdushah on page 256. Please put emphasis on the Haftarah opening and closing prayers during vacation. The more you learn now the easier it will be for you when you start your Bar or Bat Mitzvah training in the future. Check School Calendar calendar for events. On Sunday May 2nd remember we have services at 9:00 AM and also we will have a Lag (33, Remember how we count, Lamed 30 and Gimmel 3) B Omer celebration. We will go outside at 11:30 AM for fun and games, weather permitting so if you want bring a snack with you but do not spoil your lunch. These are preliminary plans. Have a wonderful vacation and we will meet again in class on Tues. 4/27 after vacation. |
